It's hard to believe we are already beginning Quarter 2 today! Our AR celebration for students who met their AR goal for Quarter 1 will take place Friday afternoon in place of our interventions. New goals will be set and students should still be working on reading a new book. Report cards will also be coming out the end of the week.
In math, we are getting closer to a unit test! So far, we have worked on addition, subtraction, and multiplication of whole numbers, fractions, and decimals. This week, we will be finishing decimal/fraction multiplication, then moving on to division. Once we finish division, we will be reviewing for our end of unit test. In social studies, we finish our Mesopotamia unit and began Greece last week. Students should be working on their Greek god/hero/monster research project and presentation, which will be due next week (your student should have a packet for this). We have already talked about Greek culture, with government and specific cities up this week. Students also created a design for a Greek pot, which will be worked on in art! Our spelling groups are also coming along nicely! We are in the middle of our first spellings tests, with new lists passed out after each test. The spelling test will appear on Quarter 2, since not everyone is finished yet. Upcoming dates:
