And all through the school, every creature was itching for break to begin!
This week, we are working on completing our missing work/corrections for math and social studies, with new spelling lists starting after break. On Tuesday, we will be having our Quarter 2 PBIS celebration for grades 4-6. Students can wear pajamas, and in the afternoon we will be watching movies and having snacks! On Wednesday, students will be able to purchase items from our PBIS store in the morning, and we will be having our class parties in the afternoon! As a reminder, if any students want to donate cookie decorating supplies, please send those to school by the end of the day on Tuesday. Thanks!
Somehow, the first half of the school year is almost over already! Where did the time go?!?
This week in math, we are finishing our lessons on ratios, getting our last homework assignment for the quarter on Tuesday (due Thursday), and taking a couple quizzes over ratios with our teammates. Students should be checking to see if they have missing work to turn it.
In Social Studies, we are finishing our unit on Ancient Egypt this week! We will spend Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday reviewing and looking into some student interest topics, with our test on Friday. Students will have a study guide for the test today (Tuesday).
Our final spelling tests are taking place this week, with only a couple groups left to go! Spelling grades should all be updated and final after this week.
It's hard to believe December is here! We are pushing through to the final three weeks of school before Christmas break (13 days to be exact)!
In math, we are working on ratios, rates, and percents, with a focus this week on enlarging and reducing figures. We are also working on number talks that related to ordering fractions and percents and ratios.
In social studies, we are continuing to learn about Egypt, specifically the geography, important historical figures, and how Ancient Egypt compares to other ancient civilizations.
Spelling tests are beginning again this week! Students should have met with me last week or are meeting with me this week, and the spelling tests will be taking place late this week and beginning of next.
