Good evening! I hope everyone had a restful and enjoyable three day weekend! It is down to the final stretch here at school, and as such, this will be my FINAL blog post update for this school year! As always please continue to check with your student and on Q to see if they have any missing work. As a reminder, students can do corrections on any assignment, which is a great way to earn some extra credit and boost their grade! Please also continue to check in with your student about their chromebook, Classcraft, and if they have gotten any behavior referrals that need to be signed (or detentions to be served). Detentions MUST be served in order to attend upcoming fun days! Please check out the important dates at the bottom of the post for details about our Classcraft field trip, end of year schedule changes, and returning chromebooks.
In other news... In math this week, we are doing some content review by working on some mysteries! Last week, students started a Carnival mystery, where they had to solve the math problems to determine who stole something from the carnival, what they stole, and where it was stolen from. This week, we are either finishing that activity or working on a mathematical murder mystery! Students have been working very hard to earn some last minute participation points for math class. The only homework this week is to finish any late work. All late work must be turned in by the end of the school day on Friday. In social studies, we are finishing our focus on Rome with the lesson The Legacy of Rome in the Modern World, looking at how ancient Rome influences our lives today. We will be finishing the rest of the notes this week for this lesson (TCI Lesson 38). The notes will be their final social studies grades. In spelling, we are finishing our last tic tac toe boards! Boards will be due on Friday, May 31 and tests will take place that day as well. Students will have one more class period to work, so some may need to work at home to finish up! This board and test will be the final spelling grades for the year. Upcoming dates:
