Good afternoon! Happy second week of March! I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend! If you are interested in the possibility of being a chaperone for our 6th grade field trip (May 6), please send back the slip on your student's information sheet.
This week in math, we are finishing our last two lessons in chapter 5, which focuses on finding the area of triangles and trapezoids. Monday was spent on finishing lesson 5.3.3 (area of triangles), Tuesday and Wednesday will be on 5.3.4 (area of trapezoids), Thursday will be spent on some area work on our chromebooks using Desmos, and on Friday we will be reviewing for our chapter five test. We will have our test on Monday (3/16/20)! This week, students will have homework on Monday (5.3.3 Review Preview), Wednesday (5.3.4 Review Preview), and Thursday (Chapter 5 review packet). Students should also be working on corrections and late/absent work (all work from lesson 5.3.2 and before must be turned in by Friday for credit)! Our class homework challenge is still going, so please encourage your students to complete their homework on time to help their class win! This week in social studies we are starting a huge Egypt project. Students were introduced to the hypderdoc today, with most of the work taking place on chromebooks (with headphones!). There will be a final "create" project after the hyperdoc, with more information coming at a later date. This project will take us at least until spring break! In spelling, students received their new lists today, so all work should be completed (at home) by next Friday, March 20, with spelling tests taking place on that day as well. IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENTS! AR:
Have a wonderful week! Ms Kennell
