Only two weeks left in Quarter 2 and two weeks left of school before Christmas break! Let's all stay healthy and finish strong!! As a reminder, the 6th grade website is the best place to look for daily directions, reminders, and updates about learning! This is also where your student should start each day that we are remote or when they are absent for any reason.
This week in math, we are moving on to the second half of chapter 4 already! This half focuses on ratios, looking at ratio relationships in general, as well as in enlargements and reductions. On Monday, we started by enlarging a mascot picture (ask your student about it!) for Lesson 4.2.1. On Tuesday, we'll complete lesson 4.2.2 - Enlarging and Reducing Figures. Wednesday will be spent completing the next two homework assignments for this chapter (4.2.1 and 4.2.2 Review Preview). Then on Thursday and Friday we will working on the last two lessons for this chapter: 4.2.3 - Enlargement and Reduction Ratios and 4.2.4 - Ratios in Other Situations. At the end of this post, there will be a list of the homework that is expected to be completed throughout the week. Check it out! You can see an updated list of missing work on Skyward. You can also see a day by day breakdown of classwork and homework on the 6th grade Google site! This week in science, we'll be starting our next unit on genetic variations! In the first lesson (Lesson 1: Solve Animation), we'll working on identifying key vocabulary, and focus on how how traits/genes are passed from one generation to the next in frogs and algae. We will need part of next week to finish this lesson. Math/Science classwork/homework this week:
