Somehow we are in the final week of December and final week of Quarter 2! How is the school year half over already?!?!? This week will be a short one (just Monday-Wednesday), with some fun events and an early out! Monday afternoon is the AR quarterly incentive (dodgeball) and on Wednesday we have our Greek Olympics, PBIS incentive, and an early dismissal at 2:20! Wednesday is also a pajama day! If you are interested in helping with supplies or time for our Greek Olympics on Wednesday, please sign up using the Classtag announcement I sent out last week in my math Classtag. We still have open slots to fill! Thanks so much to those who have already signed up to donate or help!
This week in math, we are finishing up the quarter. We are spending time finishing our math tests from last week, finishing corrections, finishing missing/absent work, and playing some math games. We will start a new concept after break (rational numbers). Any missing assignments must be turned in before students leave for break in order to be counted for this quarter. In social studies this week, we have finished our new lessons about ancient Greece and are working on prep for the Olympics! We will be making posters, figuring out strategies, and determining who is particpating in each event. If you have any yellow materials or suggestions for the class, please share them with your student (Kennell's homeroom only!)! Just like math, any missing notebook pages must be finished before students leave on Wednesday. In spelling, we finished our last list before Christmas last week, with final grades being entered this week. If any students have missing sorts, those must also be finished before break. Upcoming dates:
Have a marvelous week and Merry Christmas! Ms. Kennell
