I hope everyone enjoyed their day off for MLK Jr Day on Monday! We are back to remote learning for now, due to positive cases. The plan for now is to be remote Tuesday and Wednesday, with students returning on Thursday. If that changes, the district will send out that information to all of us.
As a reminder, with Q3 still in the early stages, be taking a look at grades and missing work so that no one falls behind early. Grades are being updated regularly, with Google classroom as an option for grades/missing work as well. The 6th grade website is the best place to look for daily directions, reminders, and updates about learning! This is also where your student should start each day that we are remote or when they are absent for any reason. This week in math, we are continuing to focus on reviewing last semester. During our video call on Tuesday, students worked with Ms Kennell on an evaluating algebraic expressions escape room! On Wednesday, students will be reviewing ratios with a Desmos Balloon Float assignment, as well as 3 Khan Academy assignments. Then on Thursday and Friday, we will be reviewing dividing multi-digit whole numbers, multiplying decimals, and dividing decimals. Next week, we'll finish any remaining work on those topics before starting our next CPM Chapter. At the end of this post, there will be a list of the homework that is expected to be completed throughout the week. Check it out! You can also see a day by day breakdown of classwork and homework on the 6th grade Google site! This week in science, we'll be continuing our unit on genetic variations! Tuesday - Thursday will be spent finishing Lesson 2: Extension, with most of the work happening in a packet if they were in person last week. On Friday, we'll be doing some intro for our next lesson. If you have any questions, please reach out and let us know! Let's have a wonderful week! Ms Kennell
