Due to COVID cases in district, we are going to be doing full remote learning for the next two weeks. This will look VERY different than it did in the spring, though! Students will be expected to check the 6th grade website every morning (link is in the header, on Clever, and on the district page). Our day will begin by 8:30 each morning! Students will be assigned Google Meet times each day with each 6th grade teacher. Students are expected to join as part of their daily instruction. The times for Blue and Silver students (as well as our open office hours) will be posted below.
In math this week, we are going to be continuing our review of order of operations, adding/subtracting decimals, and rounding. We will also be trying some CPM lessons using Desmos, though those will mostly take place during our synchronous learning time via Google Meet. In science, we have completed our first lesson, looking at the design thinking process and how to build a prototype of the world's tallest tower. I hope you were able to either help or see the amazing tower that your student created! This week, we will be moving on to our second lesson, which continues with the design thinking process, but now looking at more examples of real world creations and determining if they were successful building projects or not, as well as how those projects could have been improved. Instead of packets, we will be completing lesson 2 fully online, so students should be typing their answers instead of writing by hand. General Updates:

Have a fantastic week! Reach out to any of the teachers if you need help during this crazy remote time! Ms Kennell
