It's week 8 of our school year already and the first week in October! With the arrival of October, the end of Quarter 1 is quickly approaching (Friday, Oct 15). If your student has late work or corrections to do, they need to be submitted before Oct 15 in order to earn credit.
As a reminder, students who are absent for any reason (quarantined, appointments, sick, etc.) should check out the 6th Grade Google Site each day and complete the posted activities. Grades are being updated regularly and some students have missing assignments. As a reminder, Skyward/Q will give you access to your student's grades at any time. This week in math, we are finishing our work with generic rectangles, using them to multiply multidigit numbers, find the greatest common factor, and work through the distributive property. With the end of our chapter coming this week, we will be completing some review work towards the end of the week with our Ch 2 test next week (Thursday, Oct 14). At the end of this post, there will be a list of the homework that is expected to be completed throughout the week. Check it out! You can also see a day by day breakdown of classwork and homework on the 6th grade Google site! This week in science, we'll be starting our next unit on Mosa Mack: Claim-Evidence-Reasoning and the Scientific Method. This week, we will work through Lesson 1: The Solve Animation, where we will conduct a digital experiment with Mosa to see if candy/sugar actually makes kids hyper, or if it's the situation that causes the hyper behavior to occur. We will watch a video, complete some vocabulary, discuss the steps of the scientific method, and come to a conclusion. All steps for Lesson 1: The Solve Animation should be completed this week.
