but it really isn't! Thanks to the celebration of President's Day, this week is a short one! So, even though today feels like a Monday, it's actually a Tuesday! Yay!
In math this week, we are taking a day to practice the PARCC assessment. We will be logging into the test on our chromebooks, practicing using the tools, and trying the different problems. We will also be going over some of the problems as a class to work through strategies and deciphering what the question is asking. The rest of the week, we will be completing lessons on absolute value from CPM and Illustrative Mathematics. Next week, our focus will be on coordinate graphs! In social studies, we are reviewing our maps today and reading some articles about the countries in eastern Asia. We will have a map quiz on Friday this week. The other days, we will be exploring the Roman Republic, how it was formed, its purpose, and how it changed over time. This will most likely continue into next week as well. In spelling, students all have new lists and are working on sorting them according to the different word patterns. They will start working with me this week to go over the words and any questions.
