And just like that, it's March! As we start heading into PARCC testing season, we are trying to wrap up our core content units and find some time for additional practice with PARCC type questions. PARCC testing for 6th grade starts next Tuesday (March 13) and will take the rest of the week. Any makeup tests will be completed before spring break. Please make sure your student is starting/continuing good habits, like getting enough sleep and eating a healthy breakfast, so they are ready to rock the PARCC next week!
In math this week, we are finishing our unit on rational numbers. Today, we practiced finding distance between two points using a coordinate grid. Tomorrow, we will review graphing, with a formal test review day on Wednesday. Our test will take place on Thursday, with Friday being available if needed to finish those assessments. Any available time on Friday and Monday will be used to review some material from the entire year to help us for PARCC next week. In social studies, we are continuing to review latitude and longitude, as well as continuing our lessons on Ancient Rome. Tuesday, we will be talking about the benefits and costs of the Roman expansion from republic to empire, and if the benefits outweighed the costs. Friday, we will be taking a quiz over latitude and longitude. In spelling, students are still working on their new lists, with spelling tests taking place later in the week. Upcoming dates:

I am always surprised to see there are zero comments. I think it is refreshing to be able to see exactly what you have planned for our children. I am unfortunately many times (and I don’t love this label) a digital dad. Meaning I count on coorespondance as I am much farther away than most. It is always nice to be able to see a teacher with such passion and dedication and Cole really enjoys math and seems to be doing well, which a parent just loves to hear. Thanks for all you do! It matters and will no doubt be something these kids will not forget. Great work. Tom
