And welcome back from Spring Break! Like all of you, I loved having some time off to recharge and take some time for myself, though I must admit I missed having a set schedule each day!
This week in math, we are reviewing the graphing work we did before spring break (dot plots, bar graphs, and venn diagrams) and focusing on some new graphs (stem and leaf plots, histograms, and box plots). Today, we conducted an experiment and started graphing our results using a stem and leaf plot, which we will review tomorrow and also graph our results using a histogram. Students will have a homework assignment over those two graphs tomorrow (Wednesday). In social studies, we are starting a World Religions unit, which will focus on the history and origins behind some of the major world religions, specifically those that tie back to the ancient civilizations we have studied. Our first religion is Judaism, which we will cover for the next 2-3 weeks. We will also begin new maps again starting next week. In spelling, we pulled out the new lists we received right before break and are beginning to complete sorts on our new words. Students will meet with me this week and next to review, with spelling tests coming the following week. Upcoming dates: Science Expo!
