Hopefully everyone has recovered from the Polar Vortex last week! This week's updates will be short and sweet! I had to have my wisdom teeth removed last Friday and am still recovering, but I'm trying to power through!
In math this week we are working on reviewing what positive and negative numbers mean in real life contexts and then working on absolute value. Next week, we will be moving on to four quadrant coordinate graphing! Homework this week will be on Tuesday (7.5 worksheet) and Thursday (3.2.3 Review Preview).
In social studies, we are continuing to learn about ancient Egypt, with a focus on the different kingdoms in Egypt and some of the major achievements of the pharaohs. This is lesson eight from TCI. Your student should be keeping up with the notes in their notebook and should make up any necessary notes if they are absent.
In spelling, we are working on a new list and a tic tac toe board! Students get to pick the spelling activities they wish to complete, provided that they complete TWO sets of three in a row. Tic tac toe boards will be due on Tuesday, February 12 and we will also take our spelling tests that day.
Have a great week!
