And just like that, Quarter 2 is underway. Paper report cards will be coming out in the next couple of weeks, but current grades can always be found online if you are curious more often/sooner! This week (and next) we also have conferences. If you still need to sign up for a time, we do have a few left, mostly on Tuesday. If you are unable to sign up on Classtag, please reach out and let us know!
As a reminder, students who are absent for any reason (quarantined, appointments, sick, etc.) should check out the 6th Grade Google Site each day and complete the posted activities. As a reminder, Skyward/Q will give you access to your student's grades at any time. If your student has late work or corrections to do, they need to be completed as soon as possible. This week in math, we are starting Chapter 3, which focuses on portions and integers. In the first half, we will focus on portions, or parts of a whole, looking at the relationships between fractions, decimals, and percents. For this week, we will be completing the first three lessons, as well as the first three homework assignments. At the end of this post, there will be a list of the homework that is expected to be completed throughout the week. Check it out! You can also see a day by day breakdown of classwork and homework on the 6th grade Google site! This week in science, we'll be continuing our Claim-Evidence-Reasoning and the Scientific Method unit. This week, we will work through the second half of Lesson 1: The Solve Phenomenon, where we will conduct an experiment to see if Gorilla Tape really is 3 times stronger than their competitors. This week, we will conduct the actual experiment to see if Gorilla tape is actually 3 times stronger. After concluding our experiment, we will also look at another experiment and label the various parts of the experiment, as well as completing a quiz over the lesson. Steps 4-7 for Lesson 1: The Solve Phenomenon should be completed this week. Math/Science homework this week:
