Happy first week of March! The weather is starting to warm up, and we have some sports ending, while others are starting up. We are also nearing the end of the quarter. If your student has questions about late work or grades, now is a great time to ask those questions! This week we will also be participating in the Dr Seuss/Read Week dress up days, which are posted below.
With the Read-A-Thon, students are encouraged to sign up (parent's do this!), log their reading time, and earn money! It's all filled out and completed online, with the money going towards our PBIS carts, which start back up this week! As a reminder, if your student is absent, we will still be updating the 6th grade website daily, as well as providing any videos (if necessary). Information also went out recently about the upcoming change to Mondays. We will continue to be remote (doing video calls) for the next few weeks, but will start back in person on the final Monday before spring break. The plan is still to get out at 2:20 each day. In science this week, we will be continuing our unit on Weather. In it, the students will go through a progression of three inquiry lessons that focus on temperature, pressure, and the corresponding weather patterns. Lesson 2: The Make will begin on Friday. Any old water cycle work or Lesson 1 weather work should be completed as soon as possible. In math this week, we are reviewing our work in chapter four and taking our chapter test. On Monday, students should have completed 9 ratio assignments on Khan Academy. On Tuesday, we worked on an enlarge and reduce figures team test and started a 4.2.4 Des-Farm assignment, which is posted in Google classroom and should be completed (if necessary) for homework. Wednesday will be spent completing a chapter four review packet, as well as checking in about missing work. Then on Thursday, we'll take our chapter four math test. Math homework for this week:
Thank you for your continued support and have a fantastic week! Ms Kennell
