It's week 7 of our school year already and the final week in September!
As a reminder, students who are absent for any reason (quarantined, appointments, sick, etc.) should check out the 6th Grade Google Site each day and complete the posted activities. Grades are being updated regularly and some students are starting to have more missing assignments. As a reminder, Skyward/Q will give you access to your student's grades at any time. We are approaching the final few weeks of the quarter, so now is the time to make sure students are all caught up! This week in math, we are finishing our work with area and perimeter, using Base 10 blocks to help with some exploration. We will also be starting some multiplication work, using a tool called a Generic Rectangle (area model). Feel free to ask your student to tell you all about it!! At the end of this post, there will be a list of the homework that is expected to be completed throughout the week. Check it out! This week in science, we'll be finishing our Design Thinking unit by completing the last steps of Lesson 3: The Engineer, in which students have been working to build something to save Dullis the sloth from a pit of alligators. After finishing our designs and testing them, students will be completing a couple of questions online and then making a comic to show their design thinking process. On Friday, we will finish the unit by taking a test on Mosa Mack, which students will be able to use their notes for, if they wish. Next week, we'll start our next unit! Math/Science homework this week:
If you have any questions, please reach out and let us know! Let's have an wonderful week! Ms Kennell
