And so begins a crazy week! After a busy weekend where I graduated with my master's degree in Reading Specialist from Olivet Nazarene University, we are following it up with a busy week here at school! This week we have our Science Expo night on Wednesday, field trip on Thursday, and AR/Skip to the Park on Friday! Oh, and there's a band concert Thursday as well! If any students have not turned in permission slips or money, please contact the teacher and get that taken care of as soon as possible. Students must also have all detentions served before they can participate in the field trip, skip to the park or AR celebration.
This week in math, we are continuing to work with algebra tiles to explore our "magic trick," learn about inverse operations, and add in the distributive property. Students will have homework on Monday (7.3.1 Review Preview) and Tuesday (7.3.2 Review Preview), with an assignment on 7.3.3 coming the end of the week or beginning of next. We are also almost finished with our unit and will be taking a math test over graphs, expressions, and equations, which looks like it will be next Thursday/Friday, May 17/18. A study guide and formal date will be sent home with students later this week. In social studies, we are continuing to learn about Hinduism in our world religions unit, as well as reviewing our maps, including the 13 colonies map we added last week. We will have a map quiz on Friday. In spelling, we are taking spelling tests and starting our final spelling list! For our final list, students are completing activities on a tic tac toe board instead of the normal sorts, which they will hopefully enjoy for our final two weeks. Upcoming dates: This week:
