We are back to in person learning this week!!!!! Can you tell that I'm just a little bit excited by this?!? While remote learning was manageable for most, it was definitely not the same as being together in person, so hopefully we can stay in person for a long time!
As a reminder, students are still expected to check the 6th grade website every day that they are remote (Silver = Mon/Tues/Wed, Blue = Thurs/Fri/Mon). Grades are also up to date, with students also receiving emails if they have missing work. It is harder to keep track of work while going back and forth on in person and remote days, so it's especially important that students are checking emails, Skyward/Q, the website, and folders to make sure they are getting credit for all of their work! In math this week, we are going to be completing the final two lessons of our math chapter, which focus on characteristics of numbers, types of numbers, and prime factorization. After completing the in person learning days this week, students will have 1.2.3 and 1.2.4 Review Preview worksheets to complete on their remote days. They will also have a couple math puzzles for their Monday assignment. In science, we are taking care of some remaining late work, as well working on a boat building assignment, where students must follow the design thinking process to build a boat out of aluminium foil that can hold as much mass as possible. Students will be spending a couple weeks on this, as we will be working through all of the stages of the design thinking process this time (identify the problem, ideate/brainstorm, prototype, test, refine, repeat). Starting this week, all science work (and social studies) will be completed on remote days. Our science/social studies block is becoming an intervention block starting this week. General Updates:

Have a wonderful week! Reach out to any of the teachers if you have questions! Ms Kennell
