It's another short week this week! I hope everyone is staying safe after all of the snow and cold weather!
As a reminder, if your student is absent, we will still be updating the 6th grade website daily, as well as providing any videos (if necessary). In science this week, we will be finishing our Water Cycle unit! This week, students will have a few minutes to check in with their group about the project that should have been finished last week. Then, they will present their designs to their homeroom class and take the water cycle unit test on Mosa Mack. We will start a new unit then next week! In math this week, we started the week by reviewing evaluating algebraic expressions, working to follow order of operations to solve expressions with variables. On Wednesday, students completed an escape room and had a Google form for homework. On Thursday, we will begin the second half of chapter 4, which is all about enlarging and reducing figures using ratios. Our first lesson (4.2.1) has us working as a class to enlarge a mystery mascot picture (it's a dragon!). Students will have a homework assignment on Thursday and it will be on paper for everyone, since they will be needing graphing paper. Math homework for this week:
**We started a 6B vs 6K homework challenge for the month of February! Hopefully this will help with some of the late work! Feel free to ask your student about this challenge! Thank you for your continued support and have a wonderful week! Ms Kennell
