Last night was an exciting night, with the conclusion of the national football league season! Hopefully you were able to get some rest after the Philadelphia Eagles managed to pull off an upset against the New England Patriots!
This week in math, we are beginning our unit on Rational Numbers. Today, we started working with positive numbers, negative numbers, and opposites. We will continue learning about positive and negative numbers this week, practice working with them on number lines, and try some real-life application problems involving positive and negative numbers. The review/preview problems for Lesson 3.2.1 were assigned today, with a due date of Wednesday. Other assignments will come as we continue the week. In social studies, we spent today reviewing our map of South America and reading about some of the regions in South America. The map quiz over South America, as well as all previous maps, will be this Friday, February 9, during social studies class. Please remind your students to study for this. In spelling, we are finishing the first round of meeting on our new spelling words, with tests for some of the groups coming the end of this week. Students should be completing word sorts in class, or making them up if they are absent. Upcoming dates:
